Redland Bay Golfer wins Nett Event in NSW Sandgreen Championships 20th / 21st October

Players had been greeted with temperatures in the mid 30's on day 1 of  the NSW Sand Greens Championship at Walcha, which is recognised as the best sand greens course in NSW. Players have travelled from Cairns in the north and from the Victorian border in the south to play in this year's event.
A play off was required to determine this year's winner, with Tamworth's Nathan Mann defeating Cobar's Jacob Ryan on the first play off hole.

Two juniors fought it out for the NSW Sand Green Championships, with Tamworth’s Nathan Mann finally triumphant against Cobar’s Jacob Ryan, in a sudden death play off. Both players finished the 36 hole event at even par. Mann had rounds of 72 and 68, while Ryan had rounds of 71 and 69. Given the higher than normal attendance by junior players at this year’s event, it was only fitting that these two went down the 1st hole an extra time to decide the winner. At this hole, Mann’s par 3 was enough to take the title.

In the Nett event, Dermott Fearon (Redland Bay GC, QLD)  had rounds of 88 Nett 67 and 82 Nett 61 Total 128 and won on a count back from Dubbo’s Greg Dunn, who had lead after the first round.
