One hundred guests enjoyed a day out at the 2011 Melbourne Cup luncheon at Redland Bay Golf Club. On arrival our guests enjoyed a glass of bubbly and bought tickets in our Cup raffle and sweep tickets hoping for a win.
A delicious buffet of baked ham, bbq chicken, potato bake, caesar salad, coleslaw and pasta salad was served to our guests and enjoyed by all. The atmosphere was fun and lively leading up to the big race.
Fiona asked trivia questions to test guests knowledge of the Melbourne Cup. Best Dressed and Best Hat was judged by Lyn, Stacey and Tina, and were won by Vincent Schofield for Best dressed and Joyce Stapleton for Best Hat. Our lucky door prize was won by Bev Romanowski and our raffle prize winner was Nora C.
Anticipation mounted as the horses were readied for the race and then they were off amid great encouragement from all. As the horses went over the line in the photo finish everyone waited hoping to hear that their horse had won!
Tea, coffee and dessert was partaken at the end of a great day as sweep prizes were handed out to the lucky winners before everyone headed home after a fun day.
