Danny
Mayers is a singers singer, his career started in the early 60’s working through
out England and Europe. In 1970 he arrived in Australia where he formed rock
group ‘Nevada’. Nevada released two singles thru EMI with both singles produced
by Martin Benge, formally of Abbey Road.
In the
early 80’s he was fronting Sydney band, Slippery When Wet. The band was made up
of some of the country’s best session players. In 1982 he was spotted by Pee Wee
Wilson from The Delltones and was asked to join the band as lead
singer.
The band
went onto win numerous awards such namely, three Moa Awards, Best Vocal Group,
Six Ace Awards, Best Show Band, The Manly Readers Award, Didi’s Award and the
Gold Album award for the album, Bop Till Ya
Drop.
2009 Danny
released his first solo album, 19 Longfield Street and has been critically
acclaimed not only in Australia but also in Europe.
