'Pay as you Golf' Membership Payment Facility

MEMBERSHIP RENEWALS

As most members would be aware, membership renewal notices have been mailed out. However, if you have not received your notice over the past week, please contact the office on 3206 7011. You may also be unaware of the 'Pay as you Golf' facility on offer as detailed below:

PAY AS YOU GOLF FACILITY

'Pay as you Golf' is an independant copany that has developed a facility that allows you to pay your annual club membership fees each month rather than all at once. This facility allows you to spread out the cost of membership fees over a period of 4 - 10 months.

If you are interested in this facility, you can visit their website http://www.payasyougolf.com.au/ or phone  (02 9457 0057).

As the club does not handle any of the PAYG applications, it is recommended that the application form be submitted to 'Pay as you Golf' early as it can take up to 10 days to process.  PAYG advise us when they have received the paperwork and approximately when we can expect the payment. Only when payment is received do we process the membership renewal. For more information, please contact 'Pay as you Golf'.

GA Handicap System Changes - 19 to 21 Sept

Details of the Four Priority Changes below:

The following Four Priority Changes to the GA Handicap System will come into effect on Wednesday 21 September:
1. Alter ‘Best 10 of 20’ to ‘Best 8 of 20’.
2. Change the Multiplier from 0.96 to 0.93.
3. Introduce an Anchor which will prevent a player’s handicap from increasing any more than 4 strokes beyond their best exact handicap from the previous 12-month rolling period.
4. GOLF Link will cap the score that goes into a player’s handicap record at no more than the following amount over the course rating: • 50-women • 40-men

FAQs -

• From 21 September 2011, my handicap calculation will be based on the best 8 of my most recent 20 scores. Do I still divide the total by 10 before multiplying by the new figure of 0.93? No, you will need to divide the total by 8.
• • When the Anchor comes into effect on 21 September 2011, can my Anchor handicap come from before 21 September 2011? Yes, on 21 September 2011, a player’s Anchor handicap will be the best exact handicap they have achieved in the period between 21 September 2010 and 21 September 2011.
• • What if I’m coming back from an injury or my handicap clearly won’t be sufficient for some other reason? As has always been the case, the club should manually adjust your handicap – when your club enters your new handicap into GOLF Link, it will over-ride the old Anchor. Clubs are encouraged to make use of thisregulation when needed.

Message from the Director of Match regarding Club Champs

In the final round of the Men’s Club Championships, on 10 September the seeding will be reduced to the top 8 in A Grade. Tee off will be in the following order: 8, 7, 6 and 5 will be off at 10.48 and 4, 3, 2 and 1 at 10.54. At the conclusion of the day’s play, during presentation, the club will be providing some light snacks and a happy hour. Golf Membership Fees for 2011-12

Golf Membership renewal notices have now been mailed out to all of the Redland Bay Golf Club members. We can accept payment of these fees immediately if you would like to avoid the crowds and pay early. Please see the office staff between the hours of 9am to 5pm weekdays or 10am to 5pm on Saturday. Alternatively, you can pay via EFT on line into the clubs main account. All the details for this is on the renewal notice provided.
